Leitz

Leitz (Ernst Leitz GmbH) was the German optical firm in Wetzlar, tracing to an optical institute of 1849, that developed and manufactured the Leica camera and its lenses. The name lives on across Leica Camera, Leica Microsystems and Leitz. (See Leica, Leitz Wetzlar, Leitz Canada.)
