Minolta was a Japanese camera and lens maker founded in Osaka in 1928, known for the SR and X-series SLRs and for pioneering autofocus with the 1985 Maxxum/Dynax 7000. It became Konica Minolta in 2003 and exited the camera business in 2006, its SLR technology passing to Sony.
